Record Store Day 2016

What is uuuuuup!?!
So for me this years celebrations of Record Store Day took place in sunny Southsea! Thanks to Pie & Vinyl's street festival, Castle Road was taken over by musicians, creatives and those celebrating the weekend with a gin in hand.

Pie & Vinyl are an independent record store, come pie shop. The concept seems a little random, but this place is amazing! I will be doing a specific post on it soon, as the design of the store is as delicious as their pies!

I was lucky enough to not only celebrate the day in the sunshine, but also put on my 'proud girlfriend face', as my better half played first on the Sunday. Her band are Temples of Youth, click on the below picture to give them a listen if you're into bands like Daughter, Beach House, Florence etc.

First up was an essential caffeine stop at Delaneys, a mega cute independent coffee house on Castle road. This place was super pretty with amazing coffee. A definite must if you're in the area!

A latte later, I took to the streets. The entire length of Castle road was flooded with people and populated with an array of amazing market stalls including independent food companies, music & record sellers, art print stalls, vintage clothing and antique stalls. I heavily lusted over a rail of vintage jackets. I have been after a tasseled leather jacket for an age now, but unfortunately after trying a few on I had to walk away as they were super big. Boo!

Never one to miss an opportunity to perve on interesting design, I came across the 'Gin emporium'. this was a vintage citroen wagon converted into a mobile gin serving palace. Storage jars styled the entrance to the serving window, filled with fresh fruit ingredients. The interior of the van was plastered with amazing vintage gin adverts and styled with industrial lighting & bulbs.

Luckily, you don't have to have a vintage citreon gin palace to style your space! I have hunted down some stockists where you can pinch inspiration from the gang at the Gin emporium! Click on the links below to create something similarly magic.
